SIGNALA COPILOT MIGRATION DATE AND REPAIRED EXECUTION PATHS|SHIPPED 2|SKIPPED 3

The one thing

01

Copilot retires three model offerings on 16 November. Check the annual-plan exception.

GitHub schedules Claude Opus 4.8, Claude Opus 5 and GPT-5.6 Terra for removal across Copilot experiences on 16 November 2026. Individual annual-plan subscribers retain Opus 4.8. The suggested replacements are Opus 5.5, and GPT-6.1 Sol or GPT-6 Luna for Terra. 1

Business and Enterprise administrators who disabled default model enablement must explicitly allow the replacements. GitHub will remove deprecated choices; that does not validate the tasks or integrations that relied on them. 1

Inventory the actual model selections in saved workflows and team instructions. Run acceptance cases on the intended replacements, including a task with tool use and a failure path, then record the rollout owner. This notice concerns Copilot availability; other providers have their own retirement schedules.

VERDICT · BREAKING — Move affected Copilot workflows before 16 November; check annual-plan eligibility separately.

Claude Code repairs a skipped-step success case

Version 2.1.301 fixes workflow agents that could skip their step after reading a harness authority note while the run still reported success. Grep and Glob also now report a search failure instead of an empty match result in a documented error case. Check the expected output and exercise the error branch after upgrading. 2

Codex 0.163.0 restores policy on resume

Cold resume restores saved permissions and network grants while respecting explicit overrides and current managed policy. The proxy also checks permission before DNS resolution and closes header and credential-alias bypass paths. Test a denied host after resuming a saved task. 3

MATTERS TO · Codex users with resumed tasks or managed network rules.

What did 3.4 million tokens actually buy?

From the floor
  • Simon Willison (@simonw)Firsthand report · not reproduced

On 15 October, Willison reported 3.4 million tokens while adding READMEs to sparqlite crates. His attached workflow panel shows 22 agents after 1 hour 10 minutes: writing finished for nine crates, verification finished for four. The run was still in progress, so this is not a completed-task cost or proof that the documentation was accepted. 4

  • u/Funny-Difficulty-384 and u/glmn_officialUser report and maintainer reply

A 13 October exchange shows why the accounting needs checking too. A vibereceipt user found a 30-day estimate counted their $100 subscription twice because the period crossed two calendar months. The maintainer acknowledged the error and reported a fix in 0.1.2. API-price equivalents and subscription payments remain different quantities. 5 6

Our take

Compare tokens per accepted change, including retries, and keep partial runs separate. For README work, name the required files and factual checks before delegating; stop when those checks pass.

Neither workflow was independently reproduced; the reports do not provide a billing trace.
