The one thing

01

AI Gateway now shows where a session’s cache and spending went.

Vercel’s 18 October update adds a Sessions view to AI Gateway logs. It groups requests with their cost, models, providers and cached input; opening a session exposes the path across turns and any earlier providers. Use it to investigate a costly conversation before changing models. 1

Send a stable session identifier. Reuse providerOptions.gateway.sessionId or the x-session-id header across the conversation. Without one, grouping uses a fingerprint of its opening. Single-turn sessions are hidden by the default minimum-turn filter. 1

Session affinity prefers the previous provider to preserve cache reuse. Compare provider changes and cached input when investigating a bill; this view alone does not establish that a task produced an accepted result. 1

VERDICT · USE IT — Inspect session-level routing and cache reuse before increasing the model budget.

Cua Sandbox 0.9.1 rejects the retired cloud target

Cua’s migration guide dates the end of Cua Cloud and Fleets to 18 October. Sandbox 0.9.1 now stops on="cloud" calls with an explicit error. Local execution and your own AWS, Google Cloud or Modal account remain alternatives. Review placement, pool references and lifecycle scripts before the next run; changing the package pin cannot restore a retired service. 23

Mobile MCP 1.0.12 fixes silent swipe and text errors

A swipe supplying only one coordinate now fails instead of silently starting at screen centre. Large UI dumps no longer hit the documented ENOBUFS failure; legacy Android adb typing preserves leading # and ~. The release also adds mobile_get_foreground_app. Upgrade affected tests and exercise those inputs explicitly. 4

SGLang 0.5.22 repairs a hybrid-model state path

The release fixes hybrid linear models resuming from the wrong Mamba state when speculative decoding and structured output are combined. It also requires Python 3.11 or newer. Check the serving image, then rerun structured-output acceptance cases on the affected configuration before rollout. Vendor throughput headlines are separate from this correctness fix. 5

The claim — including ours

A durable task log needs a recorded way to widen the task.

From the floor
  • u/DarkGoatie · big-project-manager-skill authorAuthor report · not independently reproduced

The 18 October post describes task-specific file lists, acceptance checks and a HANDOFF.md. The author explicitly says token savings came from a simulation, with no measured agent runs yet. 6

  • u/True-Turnover-4543 and u/DarkGoatieProposal and author follow-up

A commenter asks for a scope-change request containing the file and reason, with approval stored beside the task. The author says they added that design and a HEAD check on resumed handoffs, but had not yet hit the file-list boundary in their own projects. 78

Our take

A narrow file list needs an exception path that preserves the decision. In a pilot, deliberately request one extra file, verify that work pauses, record the approval, then resume after moving HEAD. That would test the advertised control; the discussion supplies a design and its limits.

The proposed scope-change path and token savings have not been demonstrated by a published measured run.
